RootsTech is the largest annual genealogy and family history conference worldwide and is hosted by FamilySearch in Salt Lake City, Utah.
RootsTech 2018 will start one day earlier than usual and will be held on February 28-March 3, 2018, at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
This year the Innovator Summit and Innovator Showdown transition into the Innovation Showcase and will be highlighted in the general session address on Wednesday afternoon by Steve Rockwood, CEO of FamilySearch International. A RootsTech general pass will include access to Innovation Showcase classes. RootsTech will continue to offer multiple pass options and it will be necessary to have your RootsTech pass at all times as the passes will be scanned prior to entry to any classroom to validate attendee access to that class.
Check-in will begin Tuesday, February 27th at noon. Classes officially begin Wednesday, February 28th at 9:30 am (more classes at 11 am, 1:30 pm, and 3 pm) with the general session keynote address Wednesday at 4:30 pm, followed by a two-hour window, from 6-8 pm, to browse the Expo Hall.
Check-in is usually very fast and efficient but RootsTech requests you budget 90 minutes for parking and registration.
The RootsTech site provides accommodation information for nearby hotels.
