The BYU Record Linking Lab develops tools that link families and individuals across record collections. The lab has a twofold mission:

  1. expand the genealogical tree at FamilySearch with the end goal of adding the entire US portion of our historical population

  2. provide economic researchers with ample data to study individuals over time.

The BYU Record Linking Lab, directed by Professor Joseph Price of the Department of Economics at BYU, partners with FamilySearch to advance economic research with genealogical databases. Volunteers can contact the lab at [email protected] for service opportunities and anyone can donate or access data for their research at http://rll.byu.edu.
