- Daily Egyptian Diversity News Archive at Southern Illinois University Carbondale – a student newspaper from the 1930s onward relating to Black and Latino students, campus visitors and faculty. This searchable database of transcribed articles is an ongoing, cooperative project sponsored by the Vice Chancellor for Diversity and the Morris Library Special Collections Research Center.
- SCRC General Photographic Collection at Southern Illinois University Carbondale – These photographs are historically descriptive and documentary in nature.
- Great Lakes Digital Collection from Newberry Library – nearly 550 images of Illinois and the Great Lakes region from the French period of exploration and settlement to the early 20th century. Most of the images in the Great Lakes Collection are maps: printed maps of late colonial and early America; manuscript maps on early Illinois history; maps that document the growth and settlement of Illinois; maps showing the development of the State’s transportation system; sections from 19th century county atlases; maps of the Chicago region; and, a selection of USGS topographic sheets.

- IDOT Chicago Traffic Photographs at University of Illinois at Chicago – depict intersections, subways and underpasses, signs, bridges and viaducts, snow removal, pedestrians, and other features of traffic in the city

- Carl Lorimer and Mabel Anderson Letters, Swenson Center, Augustana College – This collection represents the correspondence between Carl Lorimer, a student at Augustana Theological Seminary in Rock Island, Illinois and Mabel Anderson, a teacher in Ottumwa, Iowa, 1907-1911
- Chicago-Photographic Images of Change from University of Illinois at Chicago – selected images the James S. Parker Collection (1900-2003) and the Chicago Photographic Collection (ca. 1890-1970)
- Chicago Aerial Photo Services (CAPS) from University of Illinois at Chicago – The Chicago Aerial Photo Services (CAPS) collection has a number of aerial photographs from 1929 through the late 1940s. Primarily the photographs are of the Chicago area though there are some images from other areas of the state.
- Chicago Urban League Photos from University of Illinois at Chicago – A group of sociologists, social workers, and philanthropists founded the Chicago League in 1916 to address the rapidly increasing needs of the African American community during a time of voluminous migration.
- College of Medicine Class Photos at University of Illinois at Chicago – The images date as far back as the 1880s and up to the early 1990s. All photographs are black and white and feature head shots of members of the class with names.
- Jacksonville Female Academy at Illinois College – established in 1830 and it was absorbed by Illinois College in 1903
- C. William Brubaker Collection at University of Illinois at Chicago – This image collection is a digital version of Brubaker’s personal slide collection, which he photographed himself in and around Chicago.
