Residence Records

  • Census records, starting in 1817, censuses were taken every 5 years, years online include 1817, 1831, 1836, 1841, 1846, 1851, 1856, 1861, 1866, 1872, 1876, 1881, 1886, 1891, 1896, 1901, 1906, 1911
  • Mortgages, records of land transactions, possibly only 1926-1927 online at present
  • Registration of Deeds, unknown but at least includes the 1700s and 1800s
  • Napoleonic Cadastral maps & plans, early 1800s – unknown, search by town or document type

Daily Life Records


  • Military registers, 1809-1938 Looking for the military registration for an ancestor? Add 20 years to the year of birth and you will have the appropriate class year. “Some years seem to be missing because the registers of those years do not contain any alphabetical table (1810-1820, 1834-1838 and 1840-1854), or the registers do not exist (1855-1867).”
  • Photographs, including war photos
