Finnish Immigration Records, 1834-1897 (www.finnishimmigrants.org/index.php?f=ln&q=Aitamaa)

This is a free website hosted by FinnishImmigrants.org and includes “transcribed ship passenger arrival records of Finnish travelers who were United States citizens or non-U.S. citizens. Among these are those planning to continue their travels, returning to the U.S., or staying in the U.S. We have records of passengers arriving at the following ports: Baltimore, Boston, New Orleans, New York, and Philadelphia; however most of the records are for passengers arriving at the Port of New York.”

Finnish Immigration Records, 1834-1897 is a fully searchable free database of over 26,000 Finnish passenger arrivals in the United States. Records are alphabetized and include:

  • Name
  • Age
  • Gender
  • Place of Departure
  • Place of Arrival
  • Ship’s name
  • Date of Arrival
