The HisKi project is a database created by the Genealogical Society of Finland and includes:

  • Christenings
  • Marriages
  • Deaths and Burials
  • Migration

Users can select a region or county and see which records are available in that area and for what years and perform searches in that particular region. Regions and counties are further broken down into parishes that can be searched.

The HisKi project also has a transcription status page where you can see which records exist and which areas appear to have no records or lost records.

Visit their Instructions page for helpful hints on how to use and search their free Finnish database.
