“These are the affidavits that allowed the following children, supposedly between the ages of 12 and 17, to work in Huntsville’s cotton mills during the period 1908 – 1915. Information given on most of these forms include, but is not limited to, date of birth (don’t believe many of the younger ones!), name of doctor or midwife who delivered the child, place of birth, and name of sponsoring parent or guardian. These are the records used to produce the book “Children of Industrial Huntsvillle”.”
