The Nevada State Library, Archives, and Public Records does not keep birth, marriage, divorce, or death records (see the Nevada State Office of Vital Statistics).

 

Orphans

  • Nevada Orphanages & Reformatories 1871 – 1930 – Reports made to the legislature by the Nevada State Orphanage, Florence Crittenton Mission and the Nevada School of Industry. The Name, age, and nativity of children in the orphanage are listed.

  • Nevada State Land Patents – Transfer of land ownership from the State of Nevada to individuals from 1865 to 2013 is recorded in these land patents. Information includes when ownership was transferred, name of the buyer, a legal description of the land, date of sale, and any easements.
  • Surveyor General of Nevada Reports 1865 – 1930Reports detailing the transactions of the State Land Office. The status of various federal land grants are of particular interest in this collection.
  • Agriculture – State of NevadaA collection of statistics from the Nevada Department of Agriculture dating from 1967, the listings of official livestock brands and newsletters from the Nevada Dairy Commission.

  • Transportation – Maps – A collection of highway and aeronautical maps of Nevada produced by the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) dating from 1919 to present and subcategorized by county.
  • Nevada Tourism – A collection of documents from the Nevada Division of Tourism. Includes visitor guides to activities and events in different regions of Nevada, as well as copies of Nevada Magazine and tourism statistics.
  • Mining & Geology Maps – Nevada – A collection of geologic and mineral maps of Nevada sorted by county, created by the Nevada Bureau of Mines and Minerals.
