New York Genealogical & Biographical Society | NYG&B is New York’s largest – and oldest – genealogical organization. A membership organization, the NYG&B engages with thousands of individuals each year through its activities. The NYG&B community includes those with an interest in tracing their own New York story – and in the preservation of those stories for future generations.

Throughout its history, the organization has gathered, preserved, and documented the stories of thousands of New Yorkers. The NYG&B’s hallmark periodical, The New York Genealogical and Biographical Record was first published in 1870 and continues to be published each quarter today. The second-oldest genealogical journal in the United States, The Record’s pages preserve and document the history of families who have contributed to the rich diversity of what is now the state of New York.

Individual Annual Membership starts at $70 per year.
