Some of these records have a searchable name index, others have browsable images, a few have both an index and images, and some link to individuals in the FamilySearch family tree.

 

This list prioritizes indexed collections, but if you can’t find your New York ancestor there, the list includes online image collections which take longer to search, but have a treasure trove of information.

 

Included are New York birth records, marriage records, death records, census records, former slave records, pension records, military records and more.   2. Other links take you to a catalog description page where you will have to select the link.

    • Look for a camera icon and select that icon

    • or look for red print and select “here”
