The Flagstaff City-Coconino County Public Library has an online Flagstaff City Directories Database for Flagstaff City Directories from 1929 to 1980 (incomplete) and Flagstaff Telephone Directories from 1926-1991 (incomplete). The database allows searches by keyword, name, address, or phone number.
“The City Directories include such information as phone numbers and addresses of people and businesses, a brief demographic history of Flagstaff at the time, and may include local attractions, clubs and organizations, and city maps. In addition, there may be census-type information for residents including how many people live in the home, educational, marital or career status.”
“The Telephone Directories include various communities in north central Arizona: Flagstaff, Ash Fork, Camp Verde, Clarkdale, Cottonwood, Grand Canyon, Jerome, Munds Park, Page, Sedona, Seligman, Williams, and Winslow. Community street maps are sometimes included.”
“For the purposes of the Federal Downwind Settlement Radiation Exposure Compensation Program, the library cannot certify proof of physical presence during the designated time period because the library did not generate or create these records. The library merely owns copies of the telephone directories from which this database was created.”
