About the Collections:

The State Archives in Malbork was established in 1950. “The territory currently under the competence of the State Archives has undergone numerous political and administrative changes over the last eight centuries. These were successive periods of belonging: to the Teutonic Order (XIII century – 1466), the Kingdom of Poland, with the exception of the part constituting the so-called Prussia Książęce (1466-1772), the period of the Prussian monarchy (1772-1919) and the German state (1919-1945). In 1945, the area was entirely incorporated into Poland. ” More information on the history of this region and where different records are located.
