The Regional State Archives in Kongsberg (Norwegian: Statsarkivet i Kongsberg) is part of the National Archives of Norway (Norwegian: Riksarkivet).

The Regional State Archives in Kongsberg is responsible for keeping records of government agencies in the counties of Buskerud, Telemark, and Vestfold, taking care of private archives, and making the preserved records available for use.

“State Archives in Kongsberg was opened in 1994 and is the country’s youngest state archives. We have in excess of 14,000 meters of shelving archives of our three counties, including both archives from the Central government and private archives. The oldest material we have is from the mid-1500s and the newest is from about 2000.”
