“Janet received a B.A. in Ancient Near Eastern History and a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from BYU. She studied Hebrew, Arabic, Greek, Egyptian Hieroglypics, and German, and lived in the Middle East for a year carrying gas masks around during the first American war in Iraq. She has accepted teaching and library positions at BYU and Salt Lake Community College. She and her husband Kim Hovorka now own Family ChartMasters. They are official printers for most of the genealogy software companies, along with My Heritage and FamilySearch. The company has won Family Tree Magazine’s Editor’s choice and 101 Best Website awards as well as FamilySearch software awards both years they’ve been awarded—most recently for their Family ChArtist online chart creation tool.”
