Free Rhode Island Census Substitutes for the early years

Here’s a great example of a free, Rhode Island Census Record Substitute online: a copy of a plat map showing the division of home lots in Providence, Rhode Island. And Rhode Island GenWeb has a digitally recreated map that’s more readable.

If you’re able to use a fee site, MyHeritage.com, Ancestry.com, AmericanAncestors.com, FindMyPast.com, and others have Rhode Island census records. The Family History Library has many useful census resources if you’re able to get to an institution where you can order & view microfilms/fiche on loan from the FHL.
